Who hasnt seen that popular depiction of a car salesman as a slick, smooth-talking con artist out to sell you what seems to be a serviceable enough automobile, only to have it break down as soon as you drive off the car lot? This scenario has been used in countless movies and comic strips; unfortunately its not very funny if you are on the receiving end of a lemon.
Were certainly not suggesting that all car dealers are unscrupulous hucksters lying in white for the next pigeon to come along but the sad reality is that there are people who, while not entirely deceitful, may “neglect” to mention hidden defects or slap you with a surprise bill for “additional” costs. Understanding your rights as a consumer and learning how to negotiate from a position of strength will go a long way in helping you get the best possible automobile deal for your money.
When you are first making inquiries at various automobile dealerships for a car you wish to purchase, take the opportunity to get a feel for the salesperson at each of the particular branches; to test drive them so to speak. It is important to take this crucial step before you get into the nitty-gritty of bargaining.
Trust your instincts; is this person someone you will want to deal with for such an important transaction? Do they inspire trust in you and make you feel comfortable? You will want to deal with a person who shows genuine concern about giving you what you need yet informed enough to suggest better alternatives.
On the other hand, if a salesperson is impatient or too insistent or possibly even downright rude, walk away; you dont need the aggravation and there are certainly many much more accommodating car dealerships that will help you out.
Make sure you test-drive your potential car as much as is reasonably necessary and ask all the questions you need to know no matter how trivial; a good salesperson will know that every little question is a legitimate concern and it is reasonable to expect thoroughness on the part of a customer.
Another thing to be sure of is that the salesperson is clear and straightforward in all the aspects of the planned purchase.
Its true: a salespersons ultimate goal is to close the sale. But there are good, knowledgeable salespeople out there who will not be afraid to suggest a totally different solution even if it affects his commission.

This may seem a slightly unlikely article for me to be writing at first. Working in the road transport industry as I do, many people assume it is automatically impossible to have a green conscience. This isnt surprising, given that my job depends on hundreds of haulage vehicles dragging loads up and down the country, producing all those environment damaging carbon emissions along the way. Actually, the truth is that my job allows me to be both a vocal green advocate and a road haulage representative while still helping me claim a regular salary. No, I havent invented a magical device that changes exhaust emissions into pure oxygen its simply thanks to the nature of the freight exchange.
It works like this: under normal circumstances, owner operators or haulage companies manage their own loads with their customers, make their delivery and then return home to the depot for the next load. Environmentally and on a human level, this is in no way efficient. The driver is, in effect, only being paid for the outbound journey, and in these times when the price of fuel seems to be rising on an almost daily basis, this is financially crippling. Now consider a freight exchange a network of suppliers and haulage driverscompanies who distribute their loads between them meaning that the return journey can contain another job. This means the trip is paid for (both ways) and therefore the haulage company is not operating at an inefficient loss (even for a minute) and profits can rise.
All well and good, but this still isnt looking particularly environmentally friendly is it? Wait, Im getting to that part.
Now, if this return load is being distributed back to someone who is already out on the road, it wont be given to an owner operator for whom that would be the sole purpose of the trip. This means that there are less wasted journeys (every mile involved has a delivery attached) and therefore less unnecessary carbon emissions all over the place. Better still, if this collaboration for efficiency continues across the industry, then less road haulage vehicles will be required to shift all the work, and we may even see the decommissioning of these carbon-emitting behemoths. The environment will surely jump for joy.
Unlike most environmentally friendly solutions which require an element of self sacrifice and extra work, the freight exchange actually creates benefits across the board: the haulage companies and owner operators make more money, the roads get less congested and the environment becomes less polluted. Efficiency shines through and everybody wins and for that reason, we have seen impressive pick up for our online freight exchange for the 7.5tonne and above market: Haulage Exchange.
I cant say whether our customer base is growing for monitory or environmental reasons (it’s probably both), but whichever it is, the gradual migration to Haulage Exchange and other freight exchanges is great news for the environment. And if our drivers save themselves significant money as well, then all the better. What harm is a little incentive when the environment is at stake?

All modern car tires are now radial. Car tires are a tremendous blight on the environment, and there are about a billion car tires stockpiled in our country. Re-treaded passenger car tires are manufactured according to standards. Today’s passenger-car tires are safer at much higher speeds than 80 mph. While passenger-car tires are nearly all radials these days, ST tires are still available in bias-belted construction. We all know that our car tires are filled with air and that at certain times the air pressure in them decreases. The sport car tires are built to provide excellent traction and handling.
This standard specifies performance, labeling, and certification requirements for retreaded pneumatic passenger car tires. Higher-performance tires have softer, grip pier rubber with shorter tread life. There are quite a few levels of performance tires available on the market, from full-on race tires to general use passenger car tires. There are various types of performance tires that are sold in the market. Performance and luxury touring tires are quiet and handle incredibly well, sometimes it is hard to believe that these types of tires are having the ability to produce results like this. When using performance tires they tend to wear out quicker than usual everyday car tires that you would put on family cars. The largest accelerations that most high-performance car tires can withstand without breaking static friction are on the order of 0.
In the simplest of operations you can determine your chosen car or off-road vehicle and subsequently mount the rims of your choice visually on the vehicle. Plus-sizing is an option that allows vehicle owners to customize their vehicle by installing lower aspect ratio tires on wider- and larger-diameter rims. Lightweight metal rims are also available on the market.
The speed ratings of Goodyear passenger car tires are listed on the “Sizes Specifications” pages in the CarLight Truck Tire Catalog. The materials and tooling Goodyear has developed to build its race tires help it build better passenger car tires.
All passenger car tires are all made from the same radial base so there is no need to sell in “balanced” sets as you put it. Car tires are cheap; you can pick up a used one just about anywhere. Your speedometer won’t read the correct speed if your car tires are not the right size. One important fact is that many automobile passenger tires are not intended to maneuver the car out of problem with speeds in excess of 75-80 mph. Make sure your car tires are in good condition and maintain a full tank of gas. Today’s car tires are built from steel and rubber which gives the tires the ability to last longer. Everyone knows car tires are inflated with air at high pressure to maintain their shape and will deflate when punctured.
When choosing a car tire it is best to speak to the dealership or auto mechanics to get their opinions on which tires are good for you type of car.

Its no secret that everyday more and more people turn to eBay to buy and sell products online and eBay Motors, the branch of the company created to sell vehicles is no different. I have bought and sold vehicles at eBay Motors and have had some great and some no so great experiences on both sides of the fence but either way it was always learning experience that helped me later on.
Obviously if youre trying to sell a car online at eBay Motors youre probably looking for the best possible price. Here are a few tips that you can use to get the best price when selling your car online. First and foremost, you must clean and fully detail your car so that it appears as close to perfect as possible depending on its overall condition and you should never try to conceal any minor flaws. When people are depending on pictures to buy a car they dont want to guess whats under the dirt or try to figure out how bad a flaw really is. Being brutally honest might net you a little less but it will prevent any headaches later on in the dealing process.
Never try and skimp on your auction description and pictures. As mentioned earlier, people are buying a car and potentially spending a bunch of cash so if they see anything they dont like they will pass your auction or listing in a heartbeat. It is much better to take as many pictures as possible, a good rule of thumb is to provide as many pictures as you would like to see if you were the buyer. Also post them up as a slideshow or a collage and cover all the angles, dont put up one picture and say email me for more, many people will not go through the trouble of requesting more photos for any mainstream model car.
I recommend that you take pictures of the following angles to help the potential car buyer understand what kind of shape your car is in. Keep your pictures flowing around the car to ensure you dont miss anything and it will help the buyer realize that youve covered everything theyre looking for?
Start at the drivers side and take a shot at an angle shooting toward the headlight but showing the entire drivers side in the photo then move around the vehicle taking the side, rear, passenger, and then straight on front. Taking the long angles is very helpful to show that your car body is true and doesnt have waves from a bad body job. Be sure to take close ups of any damage or flaws and point them out in your auction or listing description as well. Once youve covered the exterior of the vehicle take clear pictures of the interior including each of the seats, floor mats and under the floor mats, the headliner, and the dashboard. When you take a picture of the dashboard make sure you take a solo shot of the odometer to verify the mileage.
Moving on you want to take pictures of the engine compartment which is why it is crucial that it has been detailed nicely. One trick my friend uses that not many people think of is to take the dipstick out and take a close up of the oil to show that is fresh and clean. This might or might not help but the more you show the less hassle youll get in the selling process.
Now that you have the exterior, interior and engine covered you will want to add some pictures of the under carriage of your car. This is becoming the more and more the norm when people are looking at used vehicles online, they want to ensure they arent missing anything. To take away all their fears of damage and rust issues you should capture images of the front portion, mid portion and the back portion and make sure you include the muffler, catalytic converter and the wheel wells and any other areas that you feel should be covered. A lot of car enthusiasts will take shots with their wheels off to show the brake rotors or take shots of the shocks and so on but thats up to you. Youll usually see this if the seller is showing that they just changed or upgraded to new parts.
The last tip I will recommend is something I think is extremely important for any sale but especially if youre selling a classic or vintage car and that is the cars documents. That is the original owners documents and manual with any repairs and regular maintenance. Also include any preventative maintenance documents like rust proofing or any improvements that youve made since buying the car.
Provide your phone number and email so people can call or contact you with questions. If you make sure you answer any email or phone requests promptly and courteously and include whats been outlined above, Im positive youll get the best deal possible for your car without any major problems during the whole car selling process.

Does your car need some repairs? Well it can be less time consuming and save you money, if you decide to repair your car yourself. And who doesnt like saving money?
The main reason for concern would be in finding the right parts for the car. It is a good idea to get the parts before starting to repair.
If you notice there is repair needed on your car before something actually goes wrong, its good to have the parts ready on hand. Because if you wait its possible that the store is out of stock for that particular part. That way your prepared and have no worries.
You could also consider getting the parts on the internet; you can practically get any part youre looking for on the internet. Just keep looking and youre bound to find it. And hey you might get a good deal and they can even deliver the parts to you. You can get a good deal because many times they will buy the parts in bulk and save money, that way it is more easier for the companies to give you a good deal.
Though make sure when youre ordering your car parts that you’re buying the right parts for the make and model of the car that you’re repairing. It can waste time if you make a mistake and get the wrong part. It is good to plan ahead and be as organized as you can. It will make the process more efficient and wont waste time.
Go ahead and be ready for the next repair, you will see how itll be taken care of in no time. Dont moan around, it wont get the repair done any faster. Just do the repair yourself and see how much money youll save. Take my word for it, it can be done.

Even if it is just chemicals outgassing, there’s nothing like that new car smell. It says you’re smart, responsible and successful. In fact, the only thing better than the new car smell is the pride you’ll feel as you take your new wheels for a spin.
It’s certainly no secret that driving a stylish new car is fun and exciting. New cars carry warranties that protect you from unnecessary maintenance and repair bills for extended periods of time, so they can be great investments. The secret is in buying a brand new car, truck, van or SUV without deflating your budget. For many smart shoppers, the right car loans turn their new car dreams into realities.
Direct Auto Financing
One of the biggest money-saving actions you can take in purchasing your new vehicle is with financing through an independent car lender. This borrowing plan is referred to as “direct financing” or “direct loans.” Direct financing is any kind of financing action, set up by you, without the help of the car dealer. There are considerable savings and minimal risks involved in direct loans, making them the best option for many new car buyers. When you walk into a dealership with a guarantee new car loan in hand, you’ve got automatic bargaining power. You’re able to have an upper hand in negotiations, and you can stand equally to your dealer. In the end, this increase flexibility keeps you from falling into the common trap of dealership price fixing and additional financing costs.
Shopping Strategies
The first strategy in shopping for new car loans is securing independent financing. With that in mind, allow yourself further flexibility by applying for a loan limit of at least a little over what you expect to pay. This gives you extra room for flexibility at closing time, without having to worry about the loan limit. Of course, you’re under no obligation to use your entire loan limit. Arranging for automatic payments is another way to lower your rates. By having your car loan payments deducted electronically from your bank account, you can save more money over the duration of your loan.
Price Haggling
Car dealers are seasoned professionals who are trained to get every dime out of you. For that reason, it’s no wonder that so many people part with a lot of money after “negotiating” with a car dealer. Unless you’re an experienced negotiator, or have an armor of thick skin, going through a new car purchase can be an agonizing experience. The best protection from slick sales types is to walk in to the dealership with your financing already in place. When you’re in this position, you’ll find car dealers haggling with each other to get your business. Talk to local car dealers, and make it clear to them that you’ve been shopping around. Let them understand that you won’t settle for anything less than the very best deal. This leaves the dealers working to get your business, while all you need to do is choose the best one.
Owning a new car can make you feel like a million bucks, without feeling like you’ve just spent a million bucks. Shop around for car loans and make smart financing decisions, and you’ll soon be cruising along and taking in that new car smell.

The television, internet, and newspapers are filled with advertisements from car dealers touting super low prices on leasing a car. Many individuals are confused with the lease process and completely rule it out as a viable option when searching for a new car. Although leasing a vehicle does not benefit everyone, many car owners would greatly benefit by leasing a car instead of buying one, either new or used. If you are wondering if you will benefit from a car lease, consider the following thoughts:
Average Annual Mileage
If you drive your car over the river and through the woodsand then some, then leasing may not be right for you. Generally, car leases have a strict mileage maximum and you are heavily penalized if you go over this distance limit. Although this distance differs from lease to lease, the average limit for annual miles allowed in a leased vehicle is around 15,000 miles.
If you can easily stay within that mileage limit, then leasing a car may be a great option for you. However, if you will blow through those given miles several times over, then you should think again about leasing. Many car lease companies charge as much as 800 for an additional 4,000 miles driven over the mileage limitand the charges can get steeper depending on how many miles you drive over the limit.
Low Out of Pocket Costs
If you need a car for transportation but do not anticipate on driving it a great deal, then leasing works out as an excellent option. Many individuals who have a car lease enjoy the low out of pocket costs when it comes to bringing the car home. Instead of hefty down payments typically associated with buying a car, leasing a car requires a small down payment or none at all!
Additionally, the initial taxes or fees usually tacked on to the cost of a new car do not apply to lease cars, so you can easily start a lease with a couple of hundred pounds instead of the thousands you would need when buying a car. Furthermore, instead of a hefty chunk of your monthly salary going towards a car payment, the lease payments are generally a great deal less expensive since you only pay for the depreciation of the cars value during the lease period.
No Need for a Loan
Since you will not have to try to finance the entire cost of the car, leasing a car is great for individuals who would otherwise need a loan. Many banks severely restrict giving car loans to individuals with outstanding debt, including a mortgage, medical bills, or student loan payment. Leasing a car is an excellent way to bypass the banks and skip the entire loan process. If you find yourself unable to get a loan or will be forced to pay extremely high interest rates, think about leasing a car instead of buying one.
Newer Cars More Often
If you are a car lover and are constantly craving that new and improved model that just hit the showroom floor, then consider leasing a car. Leasing is a great way for individuals to continually exchange cars for the newest model without having to lose the money invested if they were to continually buy and sell cars. If you plan on keeping a new car every year or every couple of years, leasing a vehicle is probably your best option over buying.
Whatever you decide when it comes to leasing a car, do your research and choose a company and car that will meet your every expectation. Know the exact terms of the lease agreement, including any potential charges that may be incurred at the termination of the lease.

Thousands of individuals obtain cars from car rental agencies each year, but when it comes to protecting themselves financially while in possession of the car, many individuals have questions about the best way to protect themselves. One of the biggest questions that may be on their mind is whether the rental car insurance supplied by their golden or platinum credit cards is adequate protection against damage or theft of the rental car. Many individuals decline the rental car insurance offered by the rental car company because they believe that the insurance offered by their credit card is enough to handle any issue that may arise. So are they correct?
The short answer is that it depends on the specifics of the insurance offered by the credit card company. There are many credit card companies that claim that if you rent a car using their credit card, they will provide insurance coverage for you for as long as you have the car. For many individuals, this seems like adequate protection for any instances where they need to rent a car. The problem occurs when the individuals fail to read the fine print of their credit card disclosures. Although many credit card companies offer rental car insurance, the actual items covered may vary from company to company.
Reading the disclosures for the rental car insurance portion of the credit card terms and conditions can save an individual a great deal of hassle in the long run. For instance, while some credit card companies claim to offer full coverage insurance for the rental car, it is only valid if the car is rented from a certain car rental agency. The coverage may also be limited to a certain type or class of car, meaning that if any other type or class of car is rented, the coverage will not be valid. Other credit card companies limit their liability to the amount of the deductible of your personal car insurance policy and will not pay above this amount to have the car repaired or replaced, leaving the card owner responsible for the rest of the costs.
Even the credit card companies that offer extensive insurance coverage for rental cars will typically only provide collision and comprehensive coverage for the car, leaving the card holder responsible for any property damage or personal injury costs that may be incurred. Credit card companies also do not typically provide reimbursement for any personal belongings that may be lost if the car is stolen while in the card holders possession. Its a good idea to take any valuables you may have in the car with you. Although the credit card rental car insurance may help the card owner a great deal when an issue arises, a card holder that depends on this insurance alone may find themselves in a tight spot if the insurance does not cover what they think it does. Make sure that you read the fine print and are aware of the coverage that it provides before your next car rental.

Part of the General Motors Corporation, and produced and mostly sold in the United States, the Cadillac is a brand of luxury automobiles. And in the United States, this brand name of luxury automobiles has become a synonym for high quality. Certainly, because of this, it has been used in certain lingo and phrases like the Cadillac of clocks. Cadillac was formed from the Henry Ford Company, and the automobile was named after the 17th century French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, who was the founder of Detroit, Michigan in 1701.
One of the vehicles running under the Cadillac name is the Cadillac Escalade. This vehicle is a luxury spin-off of the large ChevroletGMC SUVs, and is made available in three trim levels the base SUV wagon, the longer Escalade ESV wagon, and the Escalade EXT pickup truck. The first two versions are sport utility vehicle wagons that has three rows of seats and can take in a capacity of seven passengers. The Cadillac Escalade EXT, on the other hand is a crew-cab pickup truck that has four doors. It is similar to the Chevrolet Avalanche, has a midgate wall between the cab and the cargo bed.
All the versions of the Cadillac Escalade feature an all-wheel drive and a 6.0 liter V8. The base wagon also comes as a 2WD model. All have automatic transmission, front side airbags, ABS, antiskidtraction control, tire-pressure monitor, and Cadillacs automatic-adjusting Road Sensing Suspension. Also standard features for all trim levels of the Cadillac Escalade include a trailering package, power-adjustable gas and brake pedals, a rear obstacle detection, and OnStar assistance. The Escalade ESV Platinum Edition includes features like a navigation system, rear DVD entertainment, specific appearance touches, and 20-inch chrome alloy wheels instead of the usual standard 17-inch alloy wheels of the Escalade.
Acceleration for this vehicle is found to be ample despite occasional transmission delays in full-throttle downshifts. It has towing capacities of 7,400 lbs. for 2WD Escalades, 8,100 lbs. for AWD models, and 7,300 for EXT versions. It has an averaged 13.7-15.6 mpg in city or highway driving. The vehicle could get quite staggering at times. It is also very truck-like. The Cadillac Escalade ESV models have a longer wheelbase that provides a smoother feel on rough roads. As per the vehicles steering and handling, it is generally ponderous and has a slow response to steering inputs. It has light and vague steering that demands continuous attention on the highway. Also, it has a rear-leveling suspension that is standard and improves control with a heavy load. The brakes, however, feel soft but have adequate power. It provides a fine isolation from the wind, road, and engine noise. It also offers plenty of head and leg room and a vast shoulder width. Plush seats with fold-down armrests complete the interior. Commanding road view is given to drivers, and added in is a helpful audiovisual rear-obstacle-detection system that warns of the unseen when backing up.
